OMG! Happy November! I canât believe itâs already here. The end of the year is truly around the corner, and to be honest, Iâm here for it. This time of year is all about unwinding, relaxing, and spending quality time with family. At the beginning of the year, I told myself that I couldnât wait to sit down somewhere in November and December and look back on all the hard work Iâve put in. Can you say the same? If not, itâs not too late! Do something major before 2025âI believe in you!
Now, itâs time to get this weekend started! Waffle you waiting for?!
Four Days Until Election Day!đł
Election Day is here! If you haven't had the opportunity to participate in early voting, you still have Monday and Tuesday to cast your ballot. Politics can get crazy, and it can often be difficult to choose a side. However, as citizens of the United States, it is our duty to participate in the process. Remember how hard our ancestors fought to secure the right to vote; we must not let their efforts be in vain.
Voting on Tuesday, November 5th, is not just a civic duty; itâs a powerful way to voice your values and influence the future of your community. Every election brings decisions that directly impact our livesâwhether itâs education funding, healthcare access, or local infrastructure. By casting your vote, you contribute to shaping policies that reflect your priorities and the needs of your community. History shows us that elections can hinge on a surprisingly small number of votes, underscoring the significance of each individual's participation in the process.
Moreover, voting is an opportunity to honor the struggles of those who fought tirelessly for our right to participate in democracy. From suffragists to civil rights activists, many have sacrificed their lives and freedom to ensure that every voice matters. By voting, you not only assert your own rights but also pay tribute to this legacy of activism and commitment to social justice. On November 5th, make your voice heard and empower yourself and your communityâyour vote is your power.
Young Thug is Going Home!
After spending nearly two and a half years in Fulton County Jail, Atlanta rapper Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, was released on Thursday night after a judge sentenced him to time served and 15 years of probation. This surprising turn of events impacted a high-profile gang and racketeering case that has become the longest trial in Georgia's history. Earlier that day, Williams pleaded guilty to various charges related to gang activity, drugs, and firearms.
In a strategic decision, Williams opted for a non-negotiated plea, allowing the judge to determine his sentence. During the hearing, he expressed remorse for his actions, accepted responsibility, and committed to making positive changes in his life. As part of his sentence, Williams is required to stay away from metro Atlanta for ten years, although he may visit for certain events like weddings and funerals.
Prosecutors had initially sought a much harsher sentence of 45 years, including 25 years in custody, but Williams rejected a plea deal that would have allowed for his immediate release. Instead, he pleaded no contest to specific charges while admitting guilt to others. The prosecution accused him of being the leader of Young Slime Life, which they allege is a criminal street gang involved in serious crimes, while his defense argued that YSL is simply the name of his record label. Williams was one of 28 people indicted in a case that shocked the Atlanta hip-hop community when it was announced in May 2022. Young Thug is free! A new album just might be on the way.

Cheetah Print
Cheetah print is back and itâs slowly but surely taking over the fall lookbooks! Channeling our inner early 2000s, cheetah is the perfect staple pattern to set off most of the girly fall looks, creating a sense of warmth, diva, and maturity. Add a pop and red and see what happens! Itâs magic.

Being in Public with a Bonnet
This is absolutely unacceptable, friends. Thereâs no excuse for this kind of behavior. I understand that exhaustion can be very real and that life can beat you down at times, but anything is better than wearing a bonnet in public. Try a beanie or a scarf instead.

Hereâs What You Should Be Watching This Weekđş
Thank me later. Cheers to saving time and allowing yourself to dive right into a show while your dinner is still hot and your wine is still fresh! Here are this weekâs must- watch movies and shows!
1. Time Cut (2024)
This film stars your favorites from "Ginny & Georgia" and "Outer Banks," Antonia Gentry and Madison Bailey. It's on the milder side, and I would say it might only pique the interest of those aged 14 and younger. The significance of the film lies in its incorporation of time travel, specifically back to 2003. Are we really at a point where 2003 has its own plot in a time travel film? Wild!
The movie is streaming now on Netflix.
2. Piece by Piece (2024)
This film makes the list for the second time because I have finally seen it, and itâs one of the most inspiring films Iâve watched in a long time. Itâs a documentary about Pharrellâs life, narrated by him in Lego form. It may seem cheesy, but the theme comes across powerfully, even through the use of Legos. It exceeded my expectations and deepened my appreciation for the artist that is Pharrell Williams.
In theaters everywhere now.
3. Children of the Church Steps (2024)
When they give us the platform, we have to support it. This series tells the stories of a group of Black friends who navigate life on the streets and persevere in hopes of living a better life one day. There are only four episodes, but it has great potential.
The limited series is available for streaming on Netflix.
4. Starting 5 (2024)
This series offers an intimate look into the lives of the five top NBA players as they navigate fatherhood, competition, and life during the 2023-2024 season.
The series is available for streaming on Netflix.

Wayans Brothers Return For New âScary Movieâ
Cinema is so back! Marlon Wayans has announced this week that the reboot of the Scary Movie franchise is happening, marking a reunion of its original creators for the first time in 18 years, with a new screenplay in the works. Known for its parodies of slasher films like âScreamâ and âI Know What You Did Last Summerâ, the new installment is set to begin filming next year for a theatrical release. The Wayans brothers, along with Rick Alvarez, are on board as writers and producers. Miramax's Jonathan Glickman expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating that it's an ideal moment to revive the franchise, highlighting the unique comedic vision that the Wayans brothers bring to the project.
Originally developed by the Wayans siblings, with Keenen Ivory Wayans directing and co-writing the first two films, the Scary Movie series became a significant cultural phenomenon in the early 2000s, grossing over $896 million across five movies. The first installment, released in 2000, achieved remarkable success, including the biggest opening for an R-rated horror film at the time. The franchise is part of a first-look deal between Paramount Pictures and Miramax, with Miramax overseeing the production. Reboots on rebootsâsome things just last forever.

Jorzyâs Picks
Song of the Week - âSo Ambitiousâ by JAY-Z, featuring Pharrell Williams
Of course Iâm on a Pharrell kick after watching his new documentary. The man is truly exceptional, and I donât think weâve fully taken the time to appreciate the incredible work he has done in the industry, creating timeless classics. His genius is evident not only in music but also in fashion. Not many can achieve what he has accomplished.
More than anything, I love hearing the stories of greats who werenât spoon-fed; they lived average lives and somehow found a way to make their dreams come true and achieve greatness. It shows that people are destined for their paths, and things will work out as theyâre meant to.
Anyway, the song should really put you in the zone. Sometimes you have to pop your sh*t and then go back to being humble.
Album of the Week - Gold by Cleo Sol
In honor of the release of her latest single, âFear When You Fly,â and her interview with Apple Music, we are making Cleo Solâs most recent album, Gold, our Album of the Week.
Many consider the R&B/Soul artist to be a Gospel artist as well, and I wouldnât disagree. Her lyrics are often spiritual, powerful, and uplifting. Cleo Sol creates music that the whole world should sing along to. People often underestimate the power of words, especially when many popular songs today may be about absolutely nothing. What you feed your mind through music and what comes out of your mouth is important. Cleo Sol is a safe choice in this regard. The vibe her sound creates is immaculate and peaceful, and more than anything, sheâs relatable. Tap in! "Life Will Be" is the standout track on the album.

Jorzyâs Advice Column
â¨In life, you'll realize that you wonât always be a master at the things you set your mind to. With that in mind, you will make mistakes. Whether you're in school, running a business, playing a sport or an instrument, or simply learning a new skill at work, thereâs always room for error. The key is not to quit when a mistake occurs. You must learn from it; thatâs the only way to improve. Donât let a mistake hinder your success. Keep going.â¨
