Georgia Replaces Confederate Monument With Statue of Civil Rights Leader, John Lewis
The statue of Congressman John Lewis was unveiled on August 16th in Decatur Square, in front of the Decatur Courthouse. It has taken the place of a confederate monument that stood for over a century.
The statue was created by Jamaican sculptor, Basil Watson. The statue stands 12 feet tall, illustrating Lewis’ hand over his heart.
John Lewis is an American Hero. He was one of the original Freedom Riders and a member of SNCC. He gained global attention with his speech at the March on Washington in 1963.
Apple Clean Up Tool
Technology is constantly evolving, and with the implementation of AI, anything is possible.
Apple reveals that the new iOS 18.1 beta update will include a “clean up tool”, which will allow you to erase unwanted objects from images, including people.
This feature is new to Apple users and old to Google users.
The iOS update will be available in September after the iPhone 16 launch event.
Elon Musk Supports California’s AI Testing Bill
A bill that is requiring all large AI systems to be tested for potential harm has passed through Legislature on yesterday. Although it has passed, it may face challenges as it approaches Governor of California’s desk.
As part of a new executive order on generative AI, the California Government Operations Agency is set to release a report soon that will detail the potential risks AI poses to vulnerable communities and society as a whole.

Nando’s has Opened its First Location in Atlanta
O.M.G. NANDO’S JUST OPENED IN ATLANTA!!! For those who are Nando-newbies, Nando’s is a South African food kitchen. It specializes in flame-grilled chicken that is marinated for 24-hours in peri peri sauce. Are your tastebuds tingling because mine sure are. What makes the food even more mouthwatering are the abundance of sauces made available to you at the spice level of your choosing, giving the chicken that extra oomph of flavor. The peri peri chilis are sourced from Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and South Africa
Nando’s opened its first location in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1987. It is now located in 27 countries, and with 50 locations in the U.S.
The new Nando’s is located in the Dunwoody Area. The chain plans to open a second location in Peachtree Corners this November.

R&B and Soul artist, Ravyn Lenae, released her second studio album on August 9th and it has easily taken over my monthly playlist. Her soft and sensual voice is able to steal our hearts and put us in a groovy spirit. Based on the song titles, Lenae seems to sprinkle in her own love anecdotes over a series of mystical beats. If you have yet to hear the album, be sure to play it soon.
